When I first started my business, I was told
“You should stay a secretary.”
I heard those words after completing a nationally recognized entrepreneurial accelerator. I had built the business plan while working full-time in marketing, raising my child, and earning my MBA. After presenting the vision I had worked relentlessly to develop, a room of retired CEOs told me I should stay where I was. In that moment, I saw how easily someone else’s limited perception can attempt to define your ceiling.
That experience didn’t shrink me. It clarified my mission. No one should have to compress their value, identity, or ambition to fit inside someone else’s belief system.
CJL Consulting Group was born as a response to that moment. The core of my work is to ensure that a business owner with a mission never has an encounter where their vision is devalued. My clients are supported and equipped with the strategies required for their businesses to be visible, understood, and valued in the market.
